Sketchbook: Tillman Sunrise

Yesterday started well with plein air sketching at the Tillman Wildlife Management Area.  It was 8:30 am and the sun was still low in the morning sky with frost on the boarded part of the trail.  I didn't make it over the the pond because I got stuck drawing branch details down a bit from the view in the sketch.... next time.

I used red and black china markers.

sketchbook 1

I spent some time today in the park drawing trees and people in delusion.  The top pages don't go together although they spill on to each other.  I need to say that because clearly the perspective is different.  The other pages do go together as one spread.  It represents a story about kids playing in a burning house whose father promises them bull carts to get them to come out.
