Anticipation With Hesitation

Im going back four images to put a beginning on the Camp story. It started a way into it, with the boy in the boat being discovered by the lake monster. It started there because its intention was just a one off painting. It grew into the Camp story by itself. The same thing happened with Lost Familiar.

Possible titles:
"My Camp and Your Camp Are Not the Same Camp"
"On Bear Lake"
"Day Trip"

He Arrived Safely at the Dock

My friend's family has a cottage on Bear Lake. I started going to it in may be 5th grade, or some time around then. Swimming at the edge of the dock, there were always clams. I haven't been there in years.

Run, Run, Run, (Swim, Swim, Swim)

When I was a kid watching cartoons in the 70's and 80's, none of the bad guys died. At least I don't remember any dying. If a helicopter was shot down, they always made sure they showed the guys popping up, alive. Not so today. When ever I see someone dying (like Star Wars, the Clone Wars), I always think of Cobra pilots floating in the water, shaking a fist at GI Joe. Here, the lake monster lives to drag another kid to the bottom.

---- actually the kid almost died, but at the last minute, I decided I wanted to keep the story going. Who knows if he makes it in the end. I do know that hes not as safe as he thinks he is...
