
I like the inaccurate likeness of this initial sketch as much as the finial painting, if not better. I read somewhere that every picture has continuous stopping points. Many places where it could be considered finished. This is opposed to the question "when do you know a painting is finished?" Its kind of like reading that yellow and blue make green. Eventually you figure things like that out for yourself. But I liked seeing it written in the words of someone I admire. It was either Robert Henri or Richard Schmid.
