When I left off painting traditionally in roughly 1995 to pursue digital arts, I used all sorts of custom colors in my pallet. Meaning, I didn't mix all that much and when I did I was mixing the custom colors. I liked the results a lot and have no problem with it now. People should work like they like. But what is different now, is that my pallet is very limited and I mix from basic colors. Laid out now, as seen above, its so foreign compared to back then.
The only reason this is worth mentioning is how my pallet came about this change. It was digital that brought me to these classic colors. Iv said before I mix my Photoshop colors on a digital pallet. When I chose the colors, I looked to a more classic pallet and stayed away from the color picker, save for a few saturated instances. After I got comfortable using these colors, I tossed most of my paints and bought the corresponding colors in tube. Not tossed actually. I took them to school and laid them on the "trade table" where they got snatched up by students.
So thanks digital. For making me more traditional.
New Photoshop portraits coming soon.
