My friend and I were talking about painting recently and he was saying how he was going to start doing self portraits. We had gotten together for figure drawing and the model canceled so we sat around drawing each other. I haven't done a self portrait since '90. So here I am.
Iv really gotten into drawing straight into the computer, not scanning in a sketch. I did it with the Lost Mitten illio (below) and a couple others. So I opened up Photo Booth and drew from that, using the live image, not taking a snapshot. I move a lot which is kind of good I guess. I also liked the restriction of a fixed size. I often zoom in and I feel like I'm cutting myself short in some way, artistically. So this was good, regardless of how it came out.
