I try and get my kids out into nature as much as I can. While my son climbed up the stairs from the "Devil's Hole" in the Niagara Gorge at 3, I had to carry my daughter all through the Hawaiian rain forest and the land, killing my elbow for a year after. These days they are even in their efforts and complaints, but at the end of the day we look back with satisfaction and have some good stories. I think this year, my girl will sketch with me while the boy collects rocks and we all picnic on the cool grass. The horns are large more from looming parental responsibility then anything else.
